In commemoration of their 30 year anniversary, MUFE released an entire line of brand new eye shadows/blushes. There’s 210 new colors coming in 5 formulas: diamond, iridescent, matte, metal, satin…
Recently MUFE had a special all access preview for Backstage Pass card holders (their Pro discount) and I made sure to take advantage. With the purchase of 10 or more shadows, you received a bonus discount on top of the already awesome Pro discount received! Needless to say, I made sure to stock up.
Since I no longer live near a boutique, I called in my order to the NYC boutique. Karen assisted me and she was great. Only took a few days for shipping, everything was packed tight, and I’m very pleased. I’ll be sure to place all my future orders with this boutique.
I also purchased 2 of the 10 color palettes (to house these refills) and they included a cute little samples kit!
One of these days I’ll blog about my lastest move…back to Chicago.
I’ve been back for about 3 weeks and have yet to finish furnishing and decorating my place. Despite that, I was getting a little antsy (it’s been almost 2 months since I’ve worn makeup) and decided to at least get makeup storage under control. It had been sitting in boxes for long enough.
Aside from that, I’d purchased so much new stuff that wasn’t packed with my current makeup stash, so I was adding quite a few products in (reviews to comes, once I finally get to the newbies).
And here we are…
I purchased the containers from The Container Store (found here and here)
initially I purchased 1 tray, 4 drawers, and 4 wide drawers. but I only ended up using 2 drawers and 3 of the wide drawers (didn’t have as much as I expected, other wise I would’ve put them to use by buying more makeup… smh)
Alright so here’s the final installment of this semi massive collective haul.
Purchase includes Buxom, Smashbox,and MAC.
I hadn’t tried any Smashbox items. I think I had a sample of the primer but never used it. I wasn’t very interested in what they were selling. Not sure why, but I just didn’t care for their products. I guess that’s until I spotted their under eye BB cream. This shade is “Medium.”
I don’t get why they call it that, to me just seems like any other liquid concealer. But anywho…it caught my eye so I picked it up.
It works well, gives me a nice refreshed look, doesn’t crease like crazy (although I have a deep set line under both my eyes, everything seeps into that crease), and it lasts. I like it!
Buxom was another brand I hadn’t try anything from. But I’d randomly come across this foundation, so of course I had to try it.
This weightless foundation can easily be compared to a BB cream or tinted moisturizer. I’d even compare it to a face and body foundation. Think MAC, MUFE has much better coverage.
This will be covered when I bring back my foundation review series.
On to the second installment of my collective haul…
This time we have a few products from NARS and Bobbi Brown.
First up NARS…
Maybe 2 or 3 months ago he released the contour/highlight blush duos. I picked up Gienah. As you can see, the highlight shade will not work as a highlight for me, you can hardly see it, but contour will be great. So if you’re about a New Guinea or deeper in NARS foundation shades, this highlight may work for you.
But idk about this one, the highlight could end up looking ashy. So try before you buy!
I may have been able to get away with Paloma. Ah well, this works. Contouring is one of my fav things about makeup.
for a while I had been over makeup.. I was content with everything I had and was focusing on continuing to build my kit… but then I made the mistake of rummaging google, looking at random stuff and ended up buying a bunch…
I’m going to break this up, with about 2 brands in each post so there isn’t just one long ass post
Revlon Photoready Skinlights
now it look me a while to find these. I spotted them all (there’s one more, which is bronze) at Ulta, but the bronze one was open. this was actually like my second time seeing them and all the tubes had been opened (y’all quit doing that, stores return policies are much more lenient now so if you dont like it or it doesn’t work, just take it back!).
so here we have:
barelight (left) and peach light (my fav)
I’d heard many great things about Benefit’s ‘they’re real’ mascara. What prompted me to finally purchase was my mom’s rave about how good it was.
She has fairly thin lashes and asked me several times how to get fuller lashes. I told her about MAC’s prep & prime lash and how good that works. She tried it, but it didn’t work the same for her that it worked for me.
This product, however had the opposite outcome. The Benefit ‘they’re real’ mascara is nothing special. I much prefer my drugstore L’Oreal brand of carbon black mascara.
It’s not bad, don’t get me wrong. It doesn’t run, stays all day, and it’s easy to get off with EVOO.
